Proposals for fixing the American political mess

Any of these by themselves would likely have profound beneficial effects. If they could all be implemented, they would have generational significance in restoring public confidence in government in the United States and would go a massive way toward fixing much of its dysfunction:

* Expand the Supreme Court to 2X or 3X its current size.

* Impose age limits on public servants and elected officials.

* Institute universal health care.

* Institute a concerted, nationwide drug treatment program.

* Restore the $10,000 limit on individual contributions to political campaigns to help get big money out of politics.

* Ban elected officials from owning stock.

* Abolish Presidential pardons.

* Abolish the antebellum turkey leg known as the Electoral College.

* Institute a genuine Green New Deal to break America's reliance/addiction to fossil fuels and to make America the world leader in green and alternative energy technology, practices and implementation.

* Ditch the waste, fraud and abuse that is SpaceX's architecture for US manned lunar missions and open a new tender with competitive bidding to be assessed by a NASA Administrator.

* Institute a graduated national minimum wage.

* Restore the spirit of the Eisenhower and Kennedy era democratic-capitalist virtuous cycle with strategic investments in key resources and quality education, sensible tax policies, and free but properly regulated competition.

* Outlaw golden parachutes for failed CEOs.

* Outlaw "too big to fail" bailouts for corporations that defraud their stockholders and the taxpayer.

* Restore civic education.

* Institute a national education, inspection and research program to inform people about disabilities and help those with disabilities to have guaranteed access to buildings, programs, housing and assistance.

* Institute a national work program that employs and pays the homeless to work restore and steward America's natural treasures.

* Strengthen the CFPB and anti-scam measures.

* Bolster America's microchip industry and cybersecurity, with a Cabinet level position to oversee the latter.

* Reverse tax cuts to the ultra-wealthy and use the proceeds to partially pay for the aforementioned initiatives and programs.

* Issue a pardon to all undocumented people currently in the United States who can show evidence of partaking in or seeking gainful employment, except in cases where they have administered violent or sexual crimes (which will result in deportation and banishment from the United States), while strengthening the border and working with foreign governments to improve conditions in their own countries to stem the tide of illegal migration to the US. Additionally, completing mandatory English vocation classes would be needed in lieu of acquiring citizenship.

Why are so many Christian evangelicals/fundamentalists/Nationalists also anthropogenic climate change deniers?
